Detroit police chief: Legal gun owners can deter crime | The Detroit News

“If more citizens were armed, criminals would think twice about attacking them,” – Detroit Police Chief James Craig via Detroit police chief: Legal gun owners can deter crime | The Detroit News.

Another police chief breaks with tradition and stops thinking politically. The Interpol chief had similar comments a few months back. This is REAL common sense. The gibberish we hear from the Bloombergs, Feinsteins, Schumers, Obamas, and Bidens of the world will continue. But if more police chiefs come around to thinking more about law enforcement the way many sheriff’s do, we might actually make some real progress in this country again.

  1. Note the sole disagreement came from a San Francisco-based anti-gun group citing lack of “research” to support a subjective concept–“safer”. Safer means there is nothing to report. Like Tom Gresham likes to say, “News flash! 300 million gun owners did not hurt anyone today.”

The three local network stations all reported on a rape and robbery of a woman on the Terry Hershey Park trail on Friday at 8am. None of the three described the two assailants as other than 18-20 year old men. Someone wanted to watch out for them would like to know that they were black men, one with a Rice sweatshirt and one with a back jacket. No such report from 2-11-13, although channel 2 added to their story that when on a trail, you should carry a cell phone. I guess that is so the two rapists could have stolen that in addition to jewelry and cash.
