The New York Times lays their cards on the table

It took a while for the authors to stop beating around the bush and get to the point but, to their credit, the New York Times is finally being honest…They want an all out ban on guns. Actually, they are only being half honest. They don’t go so far as to state a total ban on ALL guns but, “large categories” therein. Certainly, any modern firearm meant for serious defensive purposes. Let’s be honest…This really shouldn’t be “news.” Objectivity in the media has been a myth since before Walter Cronkite signed off for the last time from South Vietnam.

What is interesting is that in building up to the singular point of the editorial, they admit that all the bans and other legislation they desire has utterly failed to prevent tragedies like San Bernadino from happening throughout Europe. Whether it be the recent events in Paris, today’s stabbing in London, or suicide bombings, these incidents still happen. While I am not among those who would say, “Oh well, nothing we can do…” I am not willing to be vilified, made scapegoat, and stripped of the right to self-defense or the means I choose to effect said self-defense.

“…It is past time to stop talking about halting the spread of firearms, and instead to reduce their number drastically — eliminating some large categories of weapons and ammunition.

It is not necessary to debate the peculiar wording of the Second Amendment. No right is unlimited and immune from reasonable regulation.

Certain kinds of weapons, like the slightly modified combat rifles used in California, and certain kinds of ammunition, must be outlawed for civilian ownership. It is possible to define those guns in a clear and effective way and, yes, it would require Americans who own those kinds of weapons to give them up for the good of their fellow citizens.

  1. This weekend I was called a white devil when I said I would pray for a LIBTARD. He didn’t want my CURSE? The left is falling for the this claptrap hook line and sinker.

  2. So, let me get this straight: after something like 20,000 “common sense” gun laws have proven to be miserable failure, I am to give up anything scary to these idiots. Yeah, NO!

We have the Second Amendment for a particular purpose, and it isn’t about guns per se. I have a basic human right to self-defense, guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. Firearms are certainly the most effective means of protection. And I will not give them up so some libturd in New Yuck can feel like a smug a-hole. With all the dangerous people around (who will also be non-compliant) I need my weapons. I’m too old and broke down to try and fight off some jihadi with an AK or a robber with a bad attitude. Like has been said before, when second count the police are minutes away. I will not depend on the givernment to protect me from the turds. I’ll protect me and mine.

Molon Labe richardheads. You may only take them over my dead body. If that is what our givernment is prepared to do then there are about a million of us who will have to die as well. While I’m sure the ‘turds would have no problems with that, law enforcement remains the crux of the biscuit. The cops in some places will help in disarming the citizens, but I live in Texas and I don’t believe that will find an agreeable audience among LEOs here. In fact, I’m sure most will be on my side in this and tell the ruling class to ESAD.

Barry, get your pen and your phone and write your little executive orders if you have the nerve you pissy little bitch. And while you are up, bring me a beer and make me a sammich. Bitch.

  3. That part of the First Amendment addressing religion has been turned on its face to make our country a breeding ground for all sorts of demented pseudo-religions. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Wiccans, Universalists, Catholics, Mormons and heretical protestants are to be found on almost every street corner. This must stop.

The use of free speech has become a threat to the safety of our citizens. Politicians lie, media outlets publish outrageous stories, businesses advertise false claims and citizens post injurious slander about each other. Pornography abounds on the internet and in theaters while schools deliver products disguised as education that leave students believing in absurd theories about climate change. Speech in every form must be controlled and regulated to allow only that which is wholesome, uplifting and non-detrimental. All forms of public and private printed and verbal utterance must be suppressed if this civilization is to endure.

Unruly mobs are the norm on television almost every evening as they exercise their freedom of assembly to petition the government for a redress of grievances. This must also be brought to an immediate end while there is still time.
