That they are going after this is no surprise. The rumors have been floating ever since Obama took office in 2009. The events of the past year just moved it off the back burner. Never mind that there is zero record of legally owned NFA gun ever being used to commit a crime. The reason for the trust isn’t a “loophole.” It’s to protect an investment and exercise right often denied for no reason other than a local police chief of sheriff’s personal politics in places like Houston where, for years, the Demonrat police chiefs conveniently failed to process applications and more recently, a Demonrat sheriff conveniently failed to do the same, creating months and years long back logs. In addition to this, a gun trust allows guns to remain in your family rather than having to be destroyed or sold off because of the bureaucratic mess involved with trying to transfer ownership after your death.
