Mr. Colion Noir predictably becomes the target of liberal hatred…

Predictably, our friend Mr. Colion Noir (@MrColionNoir) is taking some serious hate from left-leaning mouth pieces. The latest, Russell Simmons, a media and fashion mogul. Russell Simmons claims to speak for all black people in his rant but, we can assure you, there are a great many, independent thinking, Americans in this country who happen to be black and don’t walk in lock step with the Democratic Party…Witness, Allen West, Herman Cain, Condoleeza Rice

To be fair, Simmons does rightly point out that the NRA once supported efforts to disarm blacks throughout the days of Jim Crow but, especially, during the Civil Rights Movement beginning in 1950s and though the 1970s. The bigger reality is that nearly all gun and knife control efforts in the US during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries were either selectively enforced or specifically aimed to disarm one ethnic or racial group or another, not just blacks. It’s not politically correct to say this but, for a very long time, unless you were a white, Protestant-Christian male, you were a second class citizen in this country. Things have obviously changed and now, Christians, men, indeed any and all conservatives are as persecuted as anyone else.

Having said all this, Simmons conveniently omits (or is ignorant of) the fact that nearly all of those efforts to disarm blacks were lead by Democrats who today, act like plantation era slave owners who think blacks aren’t capable of surviving on their own and need the government to provide for them from cradle to grave. Those of us who actually are part of the shooting community know that the NRA has never been perfect. There have been members who supported banning modern firearms and otherwise restricting our rights. Remember, Jim Zumbo? But the fact is, the NRA has been evolving over the years and, unlike liberals, recognized the errors of the past and continued to move forward. It’s unfortunate that Simmons is among those who would perpetuate the mindset that people must be dependent on the government.
