Armed good Samaritan comes to the aid of purse-snatching victim | khou.com Houston

This lady opens her car door, grabs the woman’s purse and they reverse. While they’re trying to reverse, the lady is holding on to her purse still, chasing them all the way to the middle.”

That’s when a perfect stranger intervened. He happened to be in his car in the parking lot when it happened.

“And that good Samaritan came out, drew his weapon and scared them. And that’s when he pulled them out of the car.”

Quite honestly, I’m shocked to see it covered this way. Keep in mind, KHOU is owned by Gannett. The same company that owns the New York Journal News which published an interactive map of New York gun owners complete with names and addresses in 2012.  The bottom line however is that we have a great example of a good guy with a gun and a good use of a gun in which no shots were fired and no one got hurt. It is suspected that this happens far more often than is reported. After all, if no one gets hurt and the attempt to do harm is thwarted, the police may never respond even if called.

  1. If there was no threat of deadly force to the lady or our good Samaritan, he should not have intervened. What was he doing to do? Shoot them for a property crime? Then he would be in jail. Be a good witness, call the Police. Your firearm is for self defense or the defense of another in a life threatening situation.
