Shooters Beware, Gun Store Parking Lots Are Like Candy Stores…

…For thieves that is.  Most of us have long been aware of this possibility but, Channel 13 here in Houston just aired a report of multiple vehicle burglaries at Tactical Firearms, AJC Sports, and other area gun stores.  This isn’t the first time this has happened. Area ranges and shops had a rash of similar burglaries five or six years ago. In once instance we got “lucky” and ended up confronting the thieves directly.  They never returned but, we wouldn’t recommend seeking a confrontation with these guys.  Be a good witness but, don’t seek a confrontation.

Be on the look out for a late model, white, Ford Edge SUV with a Florida License Plate that reads, 702 LAI.  This is typically a lookout vehicle with this team made up of at least two black males of average height and build (one sporting a goatee beard and gold chain style necklace).  The Ford is typically accompanied by a late model, silver Nissan Maxima that as of today, is still wearing dealer tags.  Please note that ABC13’s report says the car is a Nissan Altima but, the video clearly shows a current generation Maxima with a black male exiting the vehicle to commit several burglaries.

We can’t make this stuff up…Officer shot wife in buttocks showing gun to pals – Houston Chronicle

Officer shot wife in buttocks showing gun to pals – Houston Chronicle.  Most common BS line we hear at GOTR…”It just went off.”  We call BS because between the three of us, we’ve fired well over 1.5 million rounds and been there on the line to supervise that many or more.  Guns, especially handguns made since 1980, don’t typically just go off.  Typical bolt-action rifles and sporting shotguns may be a different story as they are not designed to be carried into combat but, service grade handguns from the likes of SigSauer, Smith&Wesson, Colt, HK, Glock, etc, don’t just mysteriously go BANG! without a booger-hook (aka finger) or some other object pressing on the bang switch (aka trigger) with sufficient force to activate the entire fire control system, up to and including, disabling a firing-pin block.  That doesn’t happen by accident unless you’re an incompetent idiot or, in the words of Lee Paige, the only one in the room professional enough to handle a firearm.

China condemns U.S. gun ownership as human rights violation – National gun rights | Examiner.com.  I’ll say again…WTF?!?!  Of course, I could say, “Why should we care what China thinks?”  The sad reality is that the United Nations’ leadership and political majority are increasingly made up of countries and people that think like this.  It’s just one more reason the US really needs to get out of the UN and get UN out of the US.
