Yup, Tex Grebner is an Idiot…and the Left just loves him for it.

This is an old story but, it was late and I stumbled across our old friend Tex Grebner.  By now, we’ve all seen the original video but, just in case you didn’t…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYvAxLX6OzE.  Most of us know how much of an assclown Tex was but, in an effort to prove himself a bottomless pit of stupid, he agreed to appear with non-other than lefty “comedian” Daniel Tosh on the “Tosh.0” blog.  Just a warning, I did say Tosh is a lefty so don’t be surprised to hear him say the US Constitution is irrelevant and that if you believe in or support the 2nd Amendment that you’re an idiot.

Among other revelations in this video, we learn that poor old Tex aspires to be a law enforcement officer when he grows up and thus far, has existed about as far from Texas and a free state as he could get.  He’s not from New York but, he is from Illinois and that’s close enough to this native Texas.  His whole persona is made up BS of the highest order as indicated by his statement in the original video, “My training took over” followed by saying he immediately called mommy and daddy to tell them he’d shot himself.  Highly trained gunmen don’t immediately call mommy and daddy to tell them of the mess they’ve made.

Having said all this, I’ll give old Tex just a little credit.  He did own the fact he shot himself.  He didn’t blame anyone else and didn’t claim that the gun just went off.  He fully admitted to curling his booger-hook onto the bang-switch to strum a round into his thigh. It’s been a year since he launched himself into infamy and he’s still making videos though none has been views quite as much as the one that made him famous or infamous for being a dumbass in a no-dumbass zone.  The lesson we should all take away from this is that familiarity breeds complacency that can bite us at the worst possible moment.  So do us all a favor…Don’t be THAT guy.

The Man Who Wanted to Teach—An Interview With Clint Smith | USConcealedCarry.com – USConcealedCarry.com

Sorry the blog has been a little slow for the past couple weeks.  I’ve had family and business issues tying up quite a bit of my time but, I’m also making an effort to bring some improvements and new material to the site. To that end, the article below is a worthwhile read…An interview of Clint Smith circa 2006.

Clint is a kinda of a rare duck among instructors in my experience.  To meet him in person is to meet the antithesis of what many have come to expect in a firearms instructor.  He is thoroughly unimpressed with himself and most people.  Not in a bad way, just not pretentious and exceedingly calm in his demeanor. But, as the old commercial used to say about E.F. Hutton, when Clint Smith speaks, people listen and for good reason.  Not many people have his wealth of experience or his perspective.

Road rage ends in fatal shooting in NW Harris County – Houston Chronicle.

Details are still sketchy at best but, the shooter is CHL holder and she is claiming self-defense.  Reports are, the decedent (don’t know that he’s a victim yet) was banging on the shooter’s, driver-side window in a manner that caused her to believe she was in imminent danger. At first glance, that might justify her actions.  However, there are also reports of this being a case of shooter allegedly being cut off by the decedent and then zooming around said decedent and slamming on her brakes to cause the accident that lead to the confrontation.  When it’s a situation of your own making and one that involves criminal or reckless behavior, it can be harder to argue that you were an innocent victim in your use of force.

The latest update on this case supports self-defense. Crystal Scott pulled into a gas station behind the driver of a pickup with whom she’d had a collision.  That pickup driver ran toward Ms. Scott’s vehicle and began beating on her car.  When the man started trying to open the door, Ms. Scott believed the man was about to gain entry to the car and assault her. As a result, Ms.Scott fired through her window to stop the driver from assaulting her. She then called 911 and waited for police to arrive.  The driver was DRT (dead right there), having been shot twice in the chest.
