So much for peaceful liberals…University of Kansas Professor wishes death on the children of the NRA

These are the words of University of Kansas David Guth. And he’s proud of them…“Hell no, hell no, I do not regret that tweet,” Guth said. “I don’t take it back one bit.” Personally, I never think of Kansas as being a bastion of liberal think because I’ve got good friends from Kansas and their heads are screwed on straight. Hell, the state recognizes the right to open carry! But then, I’ve never attended college in Kansas and apparently, the colleges are, well…very different.

Not one to leave well enough alone, Prof. Guth just couldn’t leave well enough alone. He took to his blog, Snapping Turtle, and wrote, “I don’t wish what happened today on anyone” “But if it does happen again – and it likely will – may it happen to those misguided miscreants who suggest that today’s death toll at the Navy Yard would have been lower if the employees there were allowed to pack heat.”

Thankfully, the University has decided Guth needed a time out. In a statement announcing Guth’s suspension this morning, Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little, wrote “In order to prevent disruptions to the learning environment for students, the School of Journalism and the university, I have directed Provost Jeffrey Vitter to place Associate Professor Guth on indefinite administrative leave pending a review of the entire situation.” Previously, the school had released this statement condemning Guth’s tweet, “The contents of Professor Guth’s tweet were repugnant and in no way represent the views or opinions of the University of Kansas.” “It is truly disgraceful that these views were expressed in such a callous and uncaring way. We expect all members of the university community to engage in civil discourse and not make inflammatory and offensive comments…”

Two Houston schools cancel NRA gun safety classes – Houston Chronicle.

I was rather shocked to hear any HISD principal was allowing the Eddie Eagle program into their schools because twenty years ago, HISD gutted the rifle marksmanship programs of its high schools just to get away from “guns.”  Well, now everyone is claiming they were duped and thought the class was being given by the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s Police Department, not the NRA.  And upon realizing that the NRA was involved, they cancelled the classes, claiming they are doing so to avoid the implication that they might be taking a political stance on the issue. HORSE-FEATHERS!!! How sad is it that the district takes the political position that perpetuating ignorance among is students is preferable to allowing a  non-political safety program to be presented on your campus.
