If you have to use a gun defensively, we prefer you have a shooting rather than a gunfight. In other words, the fight is over before the bad guy realizes it began and he’s DRT (dead right there).

Developments in NY, from friends there:
“NYC officials will not renew licenses for citizens who have certain guns which were previously, duly registered, and were supposedly ‘grandfathered-in,’ but are now ‘not approved’ for possession by private citizens.
So, the logical progression from registration, to confiscation, is now plain to see. However, the leftist media is taking great pains to conceal it from the public.
At a NY State sponsored ‘public information’ secession on NY’s ‘SAFE’ Act, conducted late last year in Clarence, NY, police were seen in the parking lot, copying down license plate numbers of attendees!
Who attended reported that the ‘informational session’ was a fraud! State officials there refused to answer any questions and provided no clarification. Attendees came away confused as to why such a secession was even held in the first place.
However, there was no confusion on the part of state officials. They got the information they wanted!
It is an old, Communist trick: Hold a phoney ‘public information session’ solely to find out who the ‘trouble makers’ are.
Communists and ‘Democrats’ in NY are getting hard to tell apart!

If you believe the history books, America learned this lesson between 1775 and 1783. Yet there are those who are bound and determined to make us more like Europe so we can learn the lesson all over again. Many argue that no one fears the government…I’d argue those who don’t aren’t paying attention. Many argue the militia is the National Guard and it is armed by the Federal government…I’d argue the PEOPLE are the militia and the National Guard is simply an extension of the government’s standing army. Many argue that bearing arms was never intended to be an individual right, but that of the collective…I’d argue that were that the case, the same would be true of the remainder of the Bill of Rights but no one believes the 1st Amendment is anything but an individual right.
Whether it’s the Ukraine, Venezuela, or even China, everyday we see examples of what happens when the State has a monopoly on the use of force against the people. If you think the National Guard will defend you against a government run a muck, you may be in for a surprise. And for the record, the bulk of the UN’s muscle used to save the lives of people being killed by their government for the last 69 years has been supplied by the United States…There is no other nation capable of coming to the rescue of Americans, let alone willing, if the roles were reversed. Vote wisely.

AUSTIN, Texas — Gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis promised Tuesday to veto a state income tax to pay for public schools and expand where people may carry handguns, while her campaign attempted to move past allegations she misled people while telling her life story.

It seems that in an attempt to distract from her real life story making the news, Wendy Davis has decided to claim support for expanded gun rights and promised to veto a state income tax if elected governor. Imagine that, a liberal democrat advocating for gun rights and lower taxes. Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Yeah well, it probably is too good to be true but, that’s what she said during an Associated Press interview last week while the press was having a field day with the revelation that the life story she’s told in campaign ads and previous interviews was found to be less than accurate.
Prior to her filibuster of abortion legislation, few people outside liberal democratic circles knew or cared that Wendy Davis existed. She was allegedly a Republican once upon a time so it may be that no one really knows who she is. Where gun rights are concerned; since beginning of her gubernatorial campaign, she has largely avoided saying anything on the subject. Guns and gun rights aren’t mentioned at all in the issues section of her website.
But, if we use a time machine (or simply look at her legislative record), we see that her sudden support for expanding gun rights is a 180-degree reversal of her position on this issue. What am I talking about? Remember campus carry (SB 1581)? Yeah well, you’ve got Wendy Davis and other Texas Democrats to thank for that bill dying on the floor of the Texas Senate floor. And true to that reversal, she did vote in support of SB 1907 last session which allows us to keep guns in our cars on college campuses. Of course, she’s done nothing to raise awareness of her vote on that issue. Doing so might ruffle the feathers of fellow liberals Democrats and cause some to withdraw support on that issue alone.
Surprisingly, in the same AP interview,Davis went on to claim that she “owns a handgun for protection, plans to get a concealed handgun license,” I wish her luck with that. Given her voting record, some CHL instructors, likely wouldn’t let her sign up for their class or sign her completion certificate if they knew who she was ahead of time. Of course, Texas CHLs records are not available to the public (nor should they be) so there’s no way to verify her claim but, I’d love to know if she actually follows through on that claim of getting a CHL and ultimately supports the right for all rather than just the privileged few like herself. I’m not holding my breath.
