George Takei decides to open a can

The man is welcome to his opinion. I however, find it interesting that a man who knows what it is like for his own government to imprison him and his family without due process would advocate giving that same government an absolute monopoly on force. At the end of the day, to suggest that only the government should have guns is to suggest he’s ok with the way his family was treated during World War II.

I just find it odd that he would honestly suggest that no one should have the right to fight such an egregious violation of one’s basic civil rights and just go along with the program for “the greater good.” Personally, George, I want you and your husband to be able to defend yourselves and your weed stash. Not just from some Confederate Flag waving moron but, from the same Democrats and Republicans who thought it was OK to round you and your family up for no reason other than you had the wrong color skin and the wrong lastname.

To the idiot who broke into Stelly’s, Lt. Higgins in St. Landry’s Parish is looking for you!

There’s a line in the film, “Two Guns,” where one of the lead characters says to the other, “Never rob a bank across from the best donut shop in three counties.” Well, this guy didn’t rob a bank and it isn’t a donut shop but, it’s close enough. Instead, he apparently burgled a favorite pit stop in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, about 20 miles north of Lafayette. It almost seems Lt. Higgins is taking that personally. I’d say I feel sorry for the suspect but, he brought it on himself and it sounds like his life is going to suck for at least a year…His burglary is considered a felony.

Obama seeks to deny 2nd Amendment Rights of Social Security recipients

If Social Security, which has never participated in the background check system, uses the same standard as the VA, millions of its beneficiaries would be affected. About 4.2 million adults receive monthly benefits that are managed by “representative payees.”

Source: Obama pushes to extend gun background checks to Social Security – LA Times

As you may have heard, the President and his minions are making the best of recent tragedies. They are attempting to go around Congress by enacting additional restrictions on gun ownership through Social Security. Specifically, they are exploiting the the definition of “prohibited persons,” in much the same way the Veterans Administration has been barring disabled veterans from owning guns in recent years.

The VA reports disabled veterans to the National Instant Check System as, “adjudicated as a mental defective.” Only problem is, the only criterion to make the determination that one is a mental defective is that someone has been appointed a fiduciary. While that certainly includes a bunch of 80-year-old-plus guys with dementia, it also includes a bunch of folks who are no danger to themselves, anyone else, and still quite capable of living productive lives. The VA rules already lead to veterans choosing not to seek help out of fear the VA will strip them of their rights to manage their own affairs, let alone own a gun. Expanding such rules to the Social Security Administration will simply expand the pool of people who avoid seeking help with mental illness.

None of that matters to Obama’s administration. It seems they would rather see people spiral into psychosis for fear of losing their rights to the government. All that matters is at least 4.2 million people could lose the right to own a gun under these rules. That’s at least 4.2 million fewer guns on the street. And if that saves just one life, trampling the civil rights of those millions is well worth it. Actions like this clearly indicate the Obama administration and their political allies will continue to seek every opportunity to eliminate the rights protected (not granted) by the Second Amendment.

Two suspects shot during attempted robbery in southwest Houston | abc13.com

“Another guy, holding the door, hold a gun to me so I shoot them,” – Dien Tu

Source: abc13.com

Mr. Tu…Your attorney would tell you that making the statement publicly is a bad idea. Still, we’re glad you, your family, and your co-workers came out on top because of your actions.

As it turns out, this store had been robbed before. As recently as July 1st. The 9000 block of Beechnut in Houston (where this robbery/shooting occurred) isn’t the best part of town. And while the Houston Police Department has an admirable response time, they are rarely around when things like this happen. The shop owner and his brother knew that so they came to work prepared.

Dien Tu apparently saw the robbery happening while he was eating dinner near the cooler in the back of the store. One suspect was apparently supposed to be watching/holding the door while his accomplices beat the store’s clerk. That suspect failed to see Tu approaching until it was too late. When the suspect turned to point his gun at Tu, Tu shot him. In the resulting excitement, Tu apparently shot a second suspect and all three of them ran outside to a waiting get-away car with a fourth suspect inside.

The two wounded suspects were dumped at an apartment complex across the street from Memorial Herman Hospital Southwest. Word is, both of them died. Good guys 2, bad guys 0. No word on whether the surviving suspects have been identified or are close to be arrested.

The only bad part about all of this is that these two suspects will be reported as “victims” of “gun violence” by the likes of Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, the Violence Policy Center and the Brady Campaign. Never mind the fact they were beating an innocent man bloody. Never mind the fact they were committing armed robbery. Never mind the threat the brought against innocent people who were trying to make an honest living. These guys may have been human beings but, they were also violent criminals threatening the lives of others and for that, they deserve no quarter or sympathy.

Former CNN Anchor: “The discussion over the debate to own a gun is just ridiculous…”

“The discussion over the debate to own a gun is just ridiculous. As Americans we have the right to bear arms and as humans the right to protect ourselves. I’m sure that the man who shot my husband did not have a gun permit. Criminals will always have guns. The rest of us legally obtain our gun permits.” – Lynne Russell
