Look at it! You think you’ve had a close call?!?! This is a close call! The would be victim in this case showed up at a Mallha, East Gouta Syria hospital seeking treatment after a sniper attack saying he’d been shot through the ear. No word on whether or not his hearing is intact but, if his was a rifle wound, the fact his head is still largely in tact and he’s not pushing up daisies is a miracle by any measure. One cannot calculate the odds of being at exactly the right angle and having the bullet pass through on just the right trajectory as to pierce this man’s ear without hitting any other part of his body or killing him outright. They said God only looks after children and fools. The man is obviously no child so we guess if he does not take this as a clue that it is time to get out of Syria, he is a fool.
ABC 13, KTRK asks what would you do? The Philadelphia Police Department is dumbfounded as to why no one stepped in to help this blind man as he was beaten. Well, it really shouldn’t be a surprise. We’ve told people not to get involved. “Leave it to professionals,” they say. And sadly, if you do step in and the bad guy happens to be Latino or black, you’re a racist unless you too are black or Latino…unless your name is George Zimmerman in which case, you are really screwed.
No, it’s in your best interest to let that guy get the snot beat out of him and/or watch him die from a safe distance. Calling 911 might get the fire department and EMS here to scrape the victim onto a gurney or into a bag so the blood can be blasted away by fire-hose but, the beating itself will most likely be over before the police arrive. They might catch the guy as he’s leaving but, all of that assumes someone actually bothers to call 911 which is sometimes an adventure onto itself.
While we’re at it, pop-culture says you should be sure to be a crappy witness that only gets half the story for your Facebook post. Record only that half of the incident on your cell phone before you post it on YouTube. But again, whatever you do, don’t get involved. That’s what the police are for. They will show up just in the nick of time with a SWAT team to kick the bad guy’s butt.
People don’t like to hear it but, we as a nation are doing our best to become a society of obedient sheep unable and unwilling to defend themselves and dependent on their favorite political shephard. No one stepped in to help because we are told over and over again to just leave it to the professionals. All too frequently, people trade their privacy and personal freedom (especially the freedom to defend ourselves by any means necessary) for “safety” the government cannot and is not interested in providing.
The harsh reality people consistently, willingly fail to accept is, WE ARE ON OUR OWN!The police do not have a duty to protect you. Ridicule Iowa for allowing the blind to carry a gun if you like but, chances are, the blind man in the above video could have used the Braille method to aim his gun and shoot this criminal off of him! It may be that issuing gun permits to the blind isn’t as crazy as it sounds.
Cmdr. Williams emailed Mr. Mentzer to put a “bug” in his ear that the police would “prefer that no mention of the fact that the weapons came from D.C. or were recovered by MPDC in the official language or speeches.” Mr. Mentzer replied, “By not mentioning where the weapons came from, we open ourselves up to the same charge against David Gregory.”
Gee guys…Conspire much? Two faced no good for nothing…Bah! I can’t begin to write/type what I’m thinking. ‘Tards all deserve to be dragged through the street, stoned in the square, and quartered at dawn!
The media has done a very good job of portraying the entire government shutdown as the will of Republicans. And while Republicans are far from blameless in the fiasco that has rolled into its eight day, the Obama Administration is at least equally culpable. The quote from county County Commissioner David Garza is a clear indication that the Obama Administration is going to great lengths to turn the screws on John Q Citizen in an effort to create political pressure against Republicans.
Garza indicated that no federal money is used to staff or maintain the county park. The park was untouched by previous government shutdowns, including the twenty-one-day shutdown of 1995-1996. But it seems this time, because the land is leased from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, it is now off limits to any and all citizens during the shutdown. I wonder how long it will be before they send rangers into George Bush Park in Houston to shutdown American Shooting Centers.
How could that happen? Many people don’t realize this but, the entire Addicks and Barker Reservoirs are owned by the U.S. Government. Specifically, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Harris County leases the land as does American Shooting Centers. If they are shutting down parks operated leased to a county and operated entirely by private or county funds, what would stop them from doing the same in Houston other than they simply haven’t thought of it yet? Your votes at work folks. You’ve got a new election cycle coming…Choose wisely.
