Suspect’s family angry at Good Samaritan, police | Fox10tv.com

“If his (the customer) life was not in danger, if no one had a gun up to him, if no one pointed a gun at him – what gives him the right to think that it’s okay to just shoot someone?” said the relative. “You should have just left the store and went wherever you had to go in your car or whatever.”

No, your f*cktard relative shouldn’t have tried to murder and rob another person. And the fact we have people who can shape their mouths to make the above statement and think it reasonable, is truly pathetic. People like this make the case for abortion…Retroactive abortion.

Female store clerk shoots and kills would-be robber : News : NorthwestOhio.com

“Just think if she didn’t have that weapon, what could have happened to her. This could be another innocent person dead for no reason,” say local resident via Female store clerk shoots and kills would-be robber : News : NorthwestOhio.com.

Incidents in which law abiding citizens successfully defend themselves against violent criminal action occur far more often than the media and many who oppose to the right to bear arms would have you believe. It looks like December Long, 29, of Toledo, Ohio either knew this or learned very quickly on November 2. According to WNWO, an NBC News Affiliate.

Long was working as a clerk at a Toledo Stop & Ro…err…Stop & Go when Christopher Shockley, 28, a local half-way house resident, entered the story at approximately 9pm and attempted to rob the Stop & Ro…err…Go at gunpoint. Details are a little sketchy but according police, Shockley shot Long in the abdomen. Long produced her own gun and returned fire. Long’s bullet was placed more effectively and Shockley was found DRT (dead right there).

Offering commentary that is somewhat unusual for police departments, rather than admonishing Long and telling civilians they should simply be good victims, Toledo Police Public Information Officer Joe Hellerman said, “He came in to do the armed robbery. It turned into a gun fight…” and warned others to think twice before committing an offense because, “You never know if that clerk behind the counter has a gun.”

One local resident, cited only as Jose, went so far as to praise Ms. Long saying, “Well I would thank her honestly. That could have happened to someone else, and what if they didn’t have a gun.”

Guns not actually banned in neighborhood watch program George Zimmerman belonged to – U.S. News

“We’re not asking anyone to take their second amendment, or their concealed weapons rights away from them,”

via Guns not actually banned in neighborhood watch program George Zimmerman belonged to – U.S. News.

Gee, Chief…Back track often? Just last week you’d said anyone participating in a neighborhood watch would not be allowed to carry. I get it. You have to cover your butt and that of the city. If you endorse people carrying, you think that puts the city on the hook when someone get’s shot.  It doesn’t but, that’s the angle you’ll work.  It’s not the first time we’ve heard similar policies associated with neighborhood watch programs for that reason.  It’s also not the first time a police chief voiced a desire to limit 2nd Amendment rights and realized he’d just swallowed his own foot.

It’s all fun and YouTube until someone gets killed

▶ Michael Myers Gunman Prank – YouTube.

This a video that was brought to the shooting community’s attention by Mr. Colion Noir (@MrColionNoir). A very few of you out there know that I had a similar prank attempted on me a couple years ago this week. The results came dangerously close to being tragic. No one was shot but, a sixteen-year-old “kid” went to the hospital with a fractured skull and permanent disability as a result.

As people discuss the tragic shooting of a 13-year-old in California who was carrying a replica of an AK-47 that even I thought was real at first glance, watch this video. Someone puts on a mask, picks up a replica airsoft rifle that at first glance, looks like the real thing. He then proceeds to point it a folks so he can videotape their reactions and get a few laughs on YouTube.

See how folks react? See the fear? What do you think will happen if a police officer or John Q Citizen runs into him and believes this guy is trying to kill them or someone else? People’s perception of a toy as a threat is a legitimate concern. It’s not being blood thirsty or looking to kill someone. Quite the opposite…I’d argue this guy is trying to get himself killed.

May be issuing gun permits to the blind isn’t as crazy as it sounds…

Blind man beaten on camera in Philadelphia while bystanders watch | abc13.com.

ABC 13, KTRK asks what would you do? The Philadelphia Police Department is dumbfounded as to why no one stepped in to help this blind man as he was beaten. Well, it really shouldn’t be a surprise. We’ve told people not to get involved. “Leave it to professionals,” they say. And sadly, if you do step in and the bad guy happens to be Latino or black, you’re a racist unless you too are black or Latino…unless your name is George Zimmerman in which case, you are really screwed.

No, it’s in your best interest to let that guy get the snot beat out of him and/or watch him die from a safe distance. Calling 911 might get the fire department and EMS here to scrape the victim onto a gurney or into a bag so the blood can be blasted away by fire-hose but, the beating itself will most likely be over before the police arrive. They might catch the guy as he’s leaving but, all of that assumes someone actually bothers to call 911 which is sometimes an adventure onto itself.

While we’re at it, pop-culture says you should be sure to be a crappy witness that only gets half the story for your Facebook post. Record only that half of the incident on your cell phone before you post it on YouTube. But again, whatever you do, don’t get involved. That’s what the police are for. They will show up just in the nick of time with a SWAT team to kick the bad guy’s butt.

People don’t like to hear it but, we as a nation are doing our best to become a society of obedient sheep unable and unwilling to defend themselves and dependent on their favorite political shephard. No one stepped in to help because we are told over and over again to just leave it to the professionals. All too frequently, people trade their privacy and personal freedom (especially the freedom to defend ourselves by any means necessary) for “safety” the government cannot and is not interested in providing.

The harsh reality people consistently, willingly fail to accept is, WE ARE ON OUR OWN! The police do not have a duty to protect you. Ridicule Iowa for allowing the blind to carry a gun if you like but, chances are, the blind man in the above video could have used the Braille method to aim his gun and shoot this criminal off of him! It may be that issuing gun permits to the blind isn’t as crazy as it sounds.
