Wis. sheriff urges citizens to get gun training – Yahoo! News.

Honestly, I’m quite impressed this sheriff had the huevos to say it publicly.  The only shame here should be Roy Felber’s.  He’s the president of the Milwaukee Deputy Sheriff’s Association and says it sounds like vigilantism.  So it seems Roy is the kind of cop we all hate…The guy who says, be a good victim until I get there to save you.  Just relax and try to enjoy whatever befalls you until the police get around to answering your call.

Folks, the sheriff made the right call. He recognizes that between budget cuts and that cold hard one known as reality, neither he nor his deputies can be everywhere at all times. If someone is trying to do you harm right now, that problem is yours to solve until the police get there and even then, the police may not be able to help you.  But, most people don’t know this and will have to learn this lesson the hard way. Unfortunately, most don’t survive the class and amazingly, some come out of it having failed to learn the lesson!

2nd suspect arrested in college shooting – Houston Chronicle.

Somehow, I find it hard to believe this guy is a concealed handgun license holder. I’ll be honest, I hope he’s not.  If he is, he obviously wasn’t paying attention to the NON-VIOLENT DISPUTE RESOLUTION portion of the class.  You know, the part where we tell you it’s better to respond rather than react and to remain in an adult ego state versus the obvious child ego state you’d have to be in for things to go this far over someone bumping into you.

Classic…Biden thinks all you need is Elmer Fudd’s gun. Two shots and then hope you don’t fumble the reload. No thanks, I’d rather pick my own tools rather than be stuck with what you’ll let me have. Folks, you may or may not know this but, one of the main reasons police have started using AR15s is because women and smaller males couldn’t effectively use shotguns. Too much recoil and too much effort/coordination required to operate/pump the slide.

Feinstein begins this new term in the Senate in the same way she did her first term…Seeking to restrict and ultimately end your right to own a gun. There’s no other way to put it. That’s her goal and she made that very clear way back in the 1990s.

So what’s in this ban? As written, it specifically bans 158 firearms.  But, it ultimately bans the manufacture of any modern firearm with anything deemed a “military” feature.  Pistol grips, thumb-hole stocks, adjustable/collapsing/folding stocks, flash suppressors, etc.  Unlike the previous ban, there is no expiration date…she learned her lesson.  Now, the media, playing their part, is quick to point out that over 2000 firearms are specifically “protected” by this bill to get law-abiding gun owners to go along with the program.  This brings us back to the idea that your guns for hunting are OK (for now) and that if you’ll just cooperate, you won’t be bothered.Feinstein-Weapons-Ban-e1359047805173

 

Folks, even if you don’t own anything on this list or anything like it, this affects you.  We live in a country that has authorized the killing of its own citizens and indefinite detention without trial.  Silly arguments about what are we going to do against an army with nuclear weapons are just that, silly.  The country will never use nuclear weapons on its own soil so you can throw that one out.  But, there may come a time again, as it has occurred in the past when one or more of us finds himself in a group of “undesirables” being rounded up for detention or simply shot on sight by men and women who are just following orders as so many Nazi war criminals have said in defense of their actions.  Don’t think that because you aren’t on a list now that you won’t be in the future.  We as free people need to stand up for each other or watch our individual rights go down the drain with each new election cycle.

Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good sound bite…

This has bothered me to no end for weeks.  Days after Wayne LaPierre spoke the NRA new conference in response to the Sandy Hook tragedy, I heard liberals left and right saying his speech was shameful and that he’d made a fool of himself in calling for armed teachers.  But I couldn’t for the life of me remember hearing him say that. Armed security in the schools, certainly but, I don’t remember him saying all our kindergarten teachers needed to get strapped as the media has continually suggested.  So I decided I needed to read the transcript again, just to be clear because, it’s not like the media would ever get something wrong.

Well, I can’t find a single phrase in the entire thirteen page document.  Those of us who actually listened to the press conference with an open mind will not be surprised by this “revelation.” The fact is the liberal media is continually spinning “the facts” to fit their agenda while quietly, Democrats across the country are apparently embracing what Wayne LaPierre actually suggested…Professional, armed security for schools.  Congress is looking at grants to fund it.  Legislatures around the country have already authorized it in many cases.  So it seems that while the media continues to sell the idea that “we” and the NRA are crazy for suggesting it, legislators and administrators across the country are quietly acknowledging the idea that armed security is, in and of itself, a deterrent where as “Gun Free Zones” are a magnet for tragedy.
