NRA-ILA | Your Action Urgently Needed to Prevent BATFE from Banning Common Rifle Ammunition!

If you haven’t already heard about this, pay attention! It’s a clear and present threat to the 2nd Amendment. It is legislation by executive action. True to his word,President Obama has taken steps to enact new gun control without Congress.

BATFE is now proposing to ban a whole class of common rifle ammunition used in that overwhelmingly popular firearm. Unfortunately, that’s just the beginning of BATFE’s latest move.

Finally, please contact your U.S. Senators and Member of Congress. Woman shoots herself while adjusting bra holster

Fifty-five-year-old, Christina Bond of St. Joseph, Michigan died on January 2, 2015 after she negligently shot herself in the face while adjusting her bra holster.

“She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn’t get it to fit the way she wanted it to. She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon,” St. Joseph Public Safety Director Mark Clapp told MLive.

We don’t know if this was the now famous “Flashbang” holster or one of several copies that have popped up on the market since that holster’s introduction. All we can do is offer Ms. Bond’s family our condolences.

Oorah! Marine Corps authorizes Glocks!

In a Marine Corps first, the service recently added a Glock pistol to its list of authorized individual weapons, optics and modular attachments.

You read that right. The United States Marine Corps has just approved Glocks! Specifically the Glock 19! But to be clear, it’s not a Corps-wide edict. This is only for personnel assigned to Marine Corps Special Operations Command and will carry a non-Marine inventory number because it is a U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOC) asset.

You can read more at the Marine Times website. It is an interesting development given some of the controversy surrounding the USMC’s purchase of new Colt 1911s for Force Recon and MARSOC personnel a few years back. I’m pretty sure R. Lee Ermey, aka “The Gunny” approves!

Copenhagen sees two shootings within hours

copenhagenOur thoughts are with the people of Denmark. On February 14, 2015, the city of Copenhagen was rocked by not one but, two shootings within hours of each other. It’s suspected that the same person or people are responsible for both attacks and it once again, very much looks to involve one or more Islamic extremists.

“…a gunman killed one person and injured three at a free speech debate attended by a Swedish cartoonist.

Hours later, a gunman opened fire on Krystalgade street, about 5km (three miles) from the scene of the first attack.”

At last report, local police are still searching for at least one shooter who escaped by carjacking a passerby. That vehicle was found abandoned a short while later. He was last seen wearing a purple balaclava and thick “puffer” jacket.

Like many European countries, Denmark is home to some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world. There is no right to own a firearm in Denmark. Licensing and specific training is required to own a gun. And in spite of all of that, much as the case in France, a criminal intent on doing people harm managed to do just that. The laws protected no one and violence has invaded Utopia again.
